Come and enjoy a guided tour with Artist EVEWRIGHT the creator of Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories an outdoor site-specific art and sound installation at Tilbury Port Essex that commemorates the lives of people from the Windrush Generation.

About the Event
This event is a guided tour with Artist EVEWRIGHT the creator of Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories, a site-specific art installation, comprised of images, documents, audio recordings and memorabilia adorning the bridge that passengers of the Empire Windrush first walked across as they entered Britain in 1948. Â Attending the live tour will give you an insight into how the installation was created and extra stories about the lives of the people who's photographs and documents are exhibited within the installation. This art and sound installation may invoke a multitude of emotions.
To enhance your visit,  all visitors are invited to download a copy of our Exhibition Guide on arrival to the art and sound installation. Scan the QR code situated on the poster at the entrance of the exhibition with a summary of each story and links to the audio.  You can also access the stories by  scanning the QR codes on images across 22 listening windows placed throughout the installation. (Please bring your own device and ear/headphones).Â

Children must me accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please note that is is a public area, for their own safety children should stay with their parent or guardian at all times and should not be allowed to wonder off on their own.
TRAVEL & ACCESSABILITY
Tilbury Passenger Bridge is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Please note that there are NO public toilet facilities at this venue. You may wish to incorporate a visit to the local public house, The Worlds End for refreshments and use of their facilities, once you have completed your tour. https://www.worldsendtilbury.co.uk
Arriving by Car
If you are travelling by car please follow signs to Gravesend Ferry and park  in the Tilbury Riverside Activity Centre car park. Near the bus terminus.
Arriving by Train
If travelling by train from Essex or London you can purchase a through ticket to Tilbury Riverside, which includes the bus from Tilbury Town Station. Â Ensign Buses co-ordinate the schedule with train arrivals and departures, to reach the installation by public transport.Â
You can buy the ticket on https://tickets.c2c-online.co.uk/ or from any National Rail station ticket office. Â Â
On arrival at Tilbury Town station please take the platform exit for Tilbury Dock (Not Tilbury Town) and you can take the no.99 bus from outside the station. (The fare is included in the train ticket price)
Tilbury International Cruise Terminal is served by a ferry service from Gravesend in Kent  to Tilbury (Mon-Sat ). Due to schedule changes however, please check https://tfl.gov.uk/ for the most up-to-date travel information.
Please note that there are NO public toilet facilities at this venue. Visitors may wish to incorporate a visit to the local public house, The Worlds End for refreshments and use of their facilities once you have completed your tour.
